This page explains how Engage Hub handles the ACMA SMS Sender ID Register for customers sending text messages to Australian recipients.
From 1 July 2026, all alphanumeric Sender IDs used to send SMS to Australian mobile numbers must be registered with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) under the Telecommunications (SMS Sender ID Register) Industry Standard 2025. Unregistered Sender IDs will be replaced with “Unverified” on recipients’ devices.
Engage Hub is an approved participating telco under the ACMA SMS Sender ID Register. We register Sender IDs on behalf of our customers through two pathways depending on your entity type.
AUSTRALIAN ENTITIES (ABN HOLDERS)
Originating telco: Engage Hub acts as your originating telco, submitting Sender ID registrations directly to ACMA via the national register on your behalf.
INTERNATIONAL / NON-ABN ENTITIES
EMSP via certified telco partner: Engage Hub acts as an Electronic Message Service Provider (EMSP) through our certified telco partner, who submits registrations to ACMA on your behalf.
In accordance with Section 27(3) of the Telecommunications (SMS Sender ID Register) Industry Standard 2025, Engage Hub publishes the following information regarding how sender ID messages are handled for both end-users and account holders.
REGISTERED SENDER ID
SMS messages sent with a Sender ID that is registered on the ACMA SMS Sender ID Register will be delivered to Australian recipients with the registered Sender ID displayed as normal at the top of the message.
UNREGISTERED SENDER ID
SMS messages sent with a Sender ID that is not registered on the ACMA SMS Sender ID Register will have the Sender ID replaced with “Unverified” on the recipient’s device. Engage Hub strongly encourages all customers sending branded SMS to Australian recipients to complete registration before 1 July 2026.
